Attend an Academic Skills Workshop
When you are entering university/university, sometimes you need a quick skills refresher and other times, you need to learn something for the first time. With over 70 live, online workshops each major term, there is something for everyone who comes to SUNY Empire State University. Some courses, like Statistics, even have a weekly workshop to support your learning in the course.
Multiple workshops are offered in each of the following categories.
- Balancing School, Work and Family
- Writing College Papers (research papers, essays, etc.)
- Improving Basic Writing Skills
- Avoiding Plagiarism
- Using College Reading Strategies
- Managing Your Mindset
- Understanding Statistics
- Completing your Assignments using Word and Excel
Current students should visit MySUNYEmpire Academic Support for the full workshop list.
Log in to MySUNYEmpire and click on Academic Support.

From here, you will navigate to the section “Summer 2025 Workshops” and select “See All”

This will pull up a list of each workshop being offered in the Summer 2025 term.

Additionally, on the Academic Support webpage, you can find a section titled “Online Workshop Directions – Tips for Users”
