Introduction

There may be times when it is more convenient to view different applications in multiple windows so that you can arrange them separately on one monitor, or arrange them separately when using multiple monitors.

Accessing Applications within Citrix Connect

  1. In your internet browser’s address bar, navigate to https://connect.sunyempire.edu
    URL in browser bar
  2. Click on “Use Light Version” option
    Light version selected
  3. Use your Empire State University email address along with your current password, and select 'Log On'
    Citrix login screen
  4. The Application Icons for the apps you have permission to access will show on the page.
  5. Click on the Apps Icon and the Application will either launch in its own Internet browser window, or open a new tab while sharing the same browser as another Application.

Viewing Applications in Multiple Windows

The example below will show how to view Banner Document Management and Administrative Banner in two windows, but this method can be used for any applications within Citrix Connect.

You may find that when you are accessing multiple applications within connect that use the same browser, they open as separate tabs within the same window as shown below.

To add a second window to allow for a more convenient view of both applications, you can follow the steps below:

Applications in same browser tab

  1. Click on the ‘bullseye’ icon located at the top of the page
    Bullseye icon
  2. Select the icon that displays 2 monitors side by side (you should now see a separate window open that shows a black page)
    Two monitors icon
  3. Left click on the tab that you would like to view in a separate window to ‘grab’ it
  4. Move it over into the second window (you will see it dragging across your active window, but will not see it in the second window immediately)
    Dragging tab into new window
  5. Once you see your cursor move to the second window, you can click once more and you will see the application open up in that window (there may be a delay of a few seconds before you see it open)

  6. From there, you can arrange the windows according to your preference.
