How to Register for a Corequisite Section

Introduction

When registering for a course that has a corequisite requirement, students will need to register for both the main course and the corequisite course at the same time.

The system works best when students add both CRNs to the Summary section before clicking “Submit.” However, if they try to register for the main course first, they will receive an error message like this example:

Steps to Resolve Corequisite Registration Errors

Students will need to take three additional steps:

First, they will need to add the corequisite CRN that was noted in the error message, and place it in the CRN field, then click “Add to Summary”:

Second, on the main course, under the Action header in the Summary block, they need to update from “Remove” to “Web Registered.” Third, click “Submit”:

Students should then receive the “Save Successful” message and see both the 3-credit main course and 0-credit corequisite course in their registration summary:

They will also see it noted on their MySUNYEmpire Student Profile page:
