Introduction
Flip cards are an effective way to present related concepts or examples on course web pages in a way that encourages active exploration. Because they don’t require a strict order, they’re ideal for helping learners make their own connections between ideas. Incorporating images or brief descriptions can deepen understanding and make the activity more engaging, especially when introducing new topics or reviewing key concepts.
Insert Flip Cards
- Create a new webpage.

- Select the Creator+ Authoring Tools, then select Insert Element.

- Select Flip Cards.

- Enter Learner Instructions to ensure that the learners know there is a dynamic element. For example, “Select each item to learn more.”

- On the Front tab, enter the Title.
- If you want to include an image on the front of your flip card, click Add Image.

- Select an image file and add alternative text or indicate that the image is decorative.
- Select Save.

- Enter the Content you want to include on the Front of the image.
- Repeat the process on the Back tab to configure the back of your flip card.

- If you want to add another flip card on the same row, to the right of the current flip card, click Add Flip Card Item.

- After previewing the Flip Card, select Insert to add the Flip Card element to your webpage.

- The Flip Card element is added to your content. Select Save and Close.

Edit Flip Cards
- Navigate to the webpage that has Flip Cards and select Edit HTML (Web Page) from the drop-down menu on right of the title.

- Once the editing window opens, click on the Flip Card itself to open the Edit Panel, then select the pencil icon.

- Make your changes to the Front, Back or Content in the Flip Card, then select Preview to review your changes.

- In the Preview window, select Insert once you have confirmed your revisions are correct.

- Back in the editing window, select Save and Close at the bottom of the screen to complete your revisions.
