Adding Image Descriptions in Posts
SUNY Empire Connects is a platform that students, staff, and faculty may use to post events and other content. While most areas of Connects prompt the user to add alternative text for any image uploaded, this feature is currently not available when making a post in a General Channel. However, all images still need alternative text.
Because there is no mechanism for adding alternative text in this area, users should write an image description in the body of the post beginning with the words "image description." Follow the same best practices for writing alternative text by including the most important details in the image in the context of the post, and also include any text that may be in the image.
