Introduction

OKMS GO is a mobile app that allows SUNY Empire members to interact with and upload LEARNscape media directly from their mobile devices. This app is especially useful for uploading videos that were taken with your phone camera. This article details how to install and get started using the app on an iOS device or Android device.

Installing the App

1. Open your device's App store (Apple App Store on an iOS device, Google Play on an Android device).
2. Search for Kaltura MediaSpace Go or KMS GO.
3. Install the app titled Kaltura MediaSpace Go (tap "Get" on an iOS device or "Install" on an Android device).
4. After the app finishes installing, enter learn.sunyempire.edu into the URL field.
5. Tap "Submit" and you will be brought to the LEARNscape homepage.

Uploading media content on Android:

1. Tap the user icon in the right hand corner and choose "Media Upload".
2. On the new page that loads, tap the "Choose a File to Upload" button.
3. Your phone will give you the option to "Choose an action". Select the appropriate option of “Camera," "Camcorder," or "Documents" .
4. Find and select your video, or create a new video. This will start the upload process.
5. Complete the fields for "Name," "Description," and "Tags" .
6. Tap "Save" . If the upload was successful, you will see a message "Your changes have been saved" at the top. The video is now in your "My Media" section and can be placed in your Brightspace course.

Uploading media on an iOS device:

You must have the MediaSpace App installed and logged in to your account to complete the following steps.

1. Tap the second icon on the bottom toolbar, "Upload".
2. Your phone will give you the option to "Take Media from". Select the appropriate option of "Camera," "Gallery," or “Cloud" .
3. “Camera” will open the phone camera to start a new video
4. Gallery: will open your Photos app
5. Cloud will take from your phone’s Files area.
6. Find and select your video, or create a new video. This will start the upload process.
7. Complete the fields for "Enter a title," then Done to open the Upload option.
8. Once uploaded as Private, you will get a prompt asking if you would like to Publish. Here you can choose Private, Unlisted or Public.

   Note: You must also enter the Video Description and at least one tag to make a published video viewable.

   Following these steps, when you go to LEARNscape from a browser on a laptop or desktop you will find this newly published video in your MyMedia collection.
