Introduction
Students can adjust their grading option up until the last day of the add/drop period. Unless the course section is set up by the instructor to pass/no pass, the default is that a letter grade will be awarded for the course.
Selecting a grading option
First, the student must successfully register for the course. They then must take the following steps if they would like to change their grading option:

Go to the MySUNYEmpire Student Portal

Click on the Registration and Course Offerings icon.

Click on either “Begin or Modify Registration” or "Register for Classes" and log in.

Select the term for registration.

Click on the “Schedule and Options” tab.

In the Grade Mode column, select either Pass/No Pass or Standard Letter from drop down.

Click the “Submit” button located on the bottom right of the screen.
