Introduction

All SUNY Empire students have access to the university's Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, to use during their studies. Students can log in using their SUNY Empire credentials (full email address and current password). The steps below will show you how to access Brightspace to get started.

Accessing Brightspace

  1. Navigate to MySUNYEmpire.edu
    • If you need to access a Summer 2024 course, select the My Online Brightspace Courses (Summer 2024) button.
    • If you need to access a Fall 2024 course, select the My Online Brightspace Courses (Fall 2024) button.
  2. Select the Network Login option on the login page.
  3. Enter your SUNY Empireusername and password.
    • Note: if prompted to select your campus from the drop-down, you will choose Empire State.
  4. Click Login. You should now be brought to the Empire State University Brightspace dashboard.
    • Please Note: Users must use a Brightspace supported browser for the best experience, and/or clear the browser cache to complete sign-on.
    • If users see a login page indicating "Network login,"" they can use this page to log back into Brightspace if they have logged out of Brightspace or their account has timed out (e.g., been inactive for an extended period).

How do I find my courses?

From the Brightspace dashboard when you first login:

  1. Scroll down to the "My Courses" widget.
  2. Select the course you want to begin.
    • Please Note: Brightspace opens with the last filtered category used to search for a course. Users may need to select the "All" category/filter to find a new course they have been enrolled to.
