Installing DDXL

Instructions for Installing DDXL on computer:

For Windows users:

Step 1: Make sure you have Microsoft Excel on your computer

Step 2: Install DDXL on your computer. Find the Install DDXL_Student.exe installer and double-click to launch. 

Follow the instructions. Click Finish when prompted. 

The DDXL installer can be found in either (1) the cd that comes with the textbook or (2) in MyStatLab under ToolsForSuccess/Data/DDXL.

Step 3: Follow directions below depending on version of Excel and type of Computer

 

After you have installed DDXL successfully, you must setup the add-in within Excel itself. To do that, use the following instructions:

For Windows:  To Install the DDXL Add-in in Excel 2010:

1) Launch Microsoft Excel 2010. Make certain a worksheet is open.

2) Click the File Tab.

3) Choose Options

4) Click on Add-Ins

5) Click Go. (at bottom of page)

6) In the Add-Ins box click Browse... 

7) Navigate to the file "DDXL Add-In.xll" and click OK.  **(The default location is C:\Program Files\DDXL\DDXL Add-In.xll)**

**(On the lab computers it is in C:\Program Files(x86)\DDXL\DDXL Add-In.xll)**

8) Verify that there is a checkmark in front of the DDXL Add-In, click OK.

To Install the DDXL Add-in in Excel 2007:

1) Launch Microsoft Excel 2007. Make certain a worksheet is open.

2) Click the Microsoft Office Button.

3) Click the Excel Options button.

4) Click the Add-Ins listing to select, make certain Excel Add-ins is listed in the Manage area. If not, select from the drop-down menu.

5) Click Go.

6) In the Add-Ins box click Browse... 

7) Navigate to the file "DDXL Add-In.xll" and click OK.

 **(The default location is C:\Program Files\DDXL\DDXL Add-In.xll)**

8) Verify that there is a checkmark in front of the DDXL Add-In, click OK.

NOTE: This version of DDXL does not require you to enter an Activation Key.

To Install the DDXL Add-in in Excel 2000 to before 2007:

1) Launch Microsoft Excel 2000 or later. Make certain a worksheet is open.

2) From the Tools menu, select Add-Ins...

3) Choose Browse... 

4) Navigate to the file "DDXL Add-In.xll" and click OK. 

**(The default location is C:\Program Files\DDXL\DDXL Add-In.xll)**

5) Verify that there is a checkmark in front of the DDXL Add-In, click OK.

NOTE: This version of DDXL does not require you to enter an Activation Key.

For Mac users:

1.Use DDXL in Computer Labs  or go to step 2

2.Go to CCIT

3.Have them install the Windows  operating system onto your machine (with Excel access)

4.Start computer in Windows 7 and follow instructions above 

 

DDXL in Computer Labs:

1.Log-in to your Clemson account

2.Open Excel

3.Now you must install the add-in into Excel

a. Launch Microsoft Excel 2010. Make certain a worksheet is open. b. Click the File Tab.

c. Choose Options

d. Click on Add-Ins

e. Click Go. (at bottom of page)

f. In the Add-Ins box click Browse... 

g. Navigate to the file "DDXL Add-In.xll" and click OK. 

**(The location in the labs is C:\Program Files (x86)\DDXL\DDXL Add-In.xll)**

h. Verify that there is a checkmark in front of the DDXL Add-In, click OK.
