Adjunct Instructors teaching sections created with Primary Content managed by an Academic Coordinator (AC) will have the appropriate primary course content automatically included during the bulk copy process. While the content is standardized to ensure consistency, there are opportunities for customization.
When should an Adjunct Instructor open an ITS Ticket?
- Discussion posts that need to be quarantined (or hidden)
- Enrollment issues (Add/Drop, ZW) – It could take approximately 1 business day for changes to appear in roster.
- If any links are not working properly or if any graded activities are not functioning within the course as expected (so it can be addressed in the primary or and other sections.
Permissions in Assignments
- Can edit assignments start, end and due dates.
- Can edit assignments to allow time extensions, special access, or hide an assignment.
- Manage Turnitin settings.
- Cannot delete an existing assignment.
- Cannot create new assignments.
Permissions in Discussion Topics
- Posts that have been quarantined/hidden by ITS can be seen.
- Create new Non-Graded Discussion Forums and Discussion Topics.
- Can edit discussion topic start, end and due dates.
- Can edit discussions topics to allow time extensions, special access, or hide an assignment.
Permissions in Quizzes
- Settings such as Auto-Publish attempt results immediately upon completion, Automatically update evaluations in grade book when published, extensions, and special access can be altered.
- Attempts can be reset/restored.
- View the status of an in-progress quiz.
Permissions in Grades
- Edit automatic final grade release setting.
- Cannot create grade items
- Cannot edit categories or weights
Permissions in Content
- Add web pages, links and files.
- Manage dates (start, end, and due dates).
- Content can be compiled and downloaded and/or printed.
- View content that is not released and/or hidden from students
- See content statistics
Permissions in Rubrics
- Cannot create or edit rubrics
Permissions in Roster
- View users’ contact information.
- Search for inactive users.
- Edit accommodations.
Permissions in Groups
- Manage group enrollements if groups are set up in the course
