Introduction

The following article details important areas of the MySUNYEmpire homepage and assists students, faculty, and staff in navigating the overall portal.

Background

Beginning Fall of 2026, the new MySUNYEmpire homepage, powered by Ellucian Experience, is replacing the SharePoint MySUNYEmpire homepages to provide a more engaging and streamlined way to access the information, resources, and tools employees and students use every day. Content is now arranged in a card-based layout, organized into categorical tabs. All of the resources linked from the original homepage will still be available; bookmarks made to individual browsers, apart from the homepage itself, will not be affected. Online courses will continue to be accessible through Brightspace.

Access

From your web browser, type “my.sunyempire.edu” You will be directed automatically to https://experience.elluciancloud.com/suonyesc957, which looks like this:

Announcements

Announcements will change over time but will always appear in boxes below the logo and above the categorical tabs.

Each announcement has descriptive text, a note in the bottom left indicating how many announcements there are, and a link on the bottom right to access additional information or to carry out the action the announcement is referencing. In this example screenshot, the announcement is regarding registration, it is the second of five total announcements, and the link takes users to registration on a separate webpage.

The Home tab is the most versatile, where bookmarked cards appear and can be rearranged to suit the user's needs.

The Academics, My Account, and My Resources tabs include pertinent cards related to those categories. Cards can not be rearranged on those tabs.

Note: Employees also have an Offices tab.

Cards

Cards are the main source of information in MySUNYEmpire. They have a title on the top left, a bookmark function (see below) on the top right, and then pictures or interactive blue buttons with links to resources and web pages. Some cards have additional descriptive text. Two examples are included in the screenshot below:
