Introduction

The Quick Eval widget allows instructors to see learning activities and assessments that have been submitted for evaluation. This includes discussions, assignments and quizzes that have manual items. Quick Eval does not include integrated third-party assessments such as those from Cengage, Pearson, or McGraw-Hill.

Accessing Quick Eval

  1. Log into your Brightspace account
  2. Select the course for which you would like to view assessments
  3. The Quick Eval widget can be found below the Visual Table of Contents (TOC)
    • Note: Quick Eval can also be found by selecting Tools in the navbar.
  4. Select Quick Eval and it will show items that require evaluation in either submission or activity listing. You can also search for an activity name. There is also an option to view Multi-Course Quick Eval if you are teaching more than one course.

Grading Items through Quick Eval

  1. If viewing by activity, you can see how many students have completed the activity, how many have been evaluated, and how many grades have been published. By hovering over any of these metrics, you are able to select Evaluate All, Submission List, and More Actions.
  2. More Actions allows you to either publish all, or to dismiss until. The Dismiss Activity allows you to hide the item from Quick Eval until either the next submission, a specific date, or forever. To view dismissed activities, select the three dots in the right-hand-corner of the page above the search box. This menu also allows you to view multi-course quick eval.
  3. Selecting Evaluate All for an activity opens a page with two columns, the left-hand column has the submission, and the right-hand column includes a grading rubric, overall grade, overall feedback, and options for audio/video feedback, or attaching files for assignments.
