Introduction

There may be times when Lotus Notes does not load properly and the application needs to be rebuilt.  To force this action, we can rename the user’s data folder so that Lotus Notes build a new one when it is re-opened.

Renaming Data Folder: Desktop

  1. Open File Explorer from user's desktop.
  2. Open the Local Disk C: Drive
  3. Open "Program Files (x86)" folder
  4. Open the "IBM" folder.
  5. Open the "Notes" folder.
  6. Right-click on the data folder and rename it to "xdata".
  7. Have the user re-open Notes, and from there, we can proceed with our normal setup procedure.

(C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Notes)

*Please note that these steps cannot be used when troubleshooting account for IT Service Desk Technicians.
