Turn on WiFi Calling on Your Smartphone

Introduction
In areas where cell phone towers are not readily available, but wifi access is strong, most smartphones allow you to make and receive phone calls via wifi. This is a phone setting that can easily be changed.
NOTE: Older Android or iPhone models may not offer wifi calling.
iPhone Devices
NOTE: Depending on your carrier, these instructions may vary slightly.
- In your phone's settings, click Phone.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Calling. (It may ask you to enter in address information, to ensure a 9-1-1 call will go to the correct location.)
- You will be prompted with a popup menu. Click Enable.
- Restart your iPhone and connect to a Wi-Fi network. (Note: Not all Wi-Fi networks work with Wi-Fi Calling.)
- At this point, any calls you make from within a wifi network should default to wifi calling.
Android Devices
NOTE: Depending on your carrier, these instructions may vary slightly.
- In your Androids Settings menu, select the Wifi Calling option.
- Enable Wi-Fi Calling by clicking it.
- Wi-fi calling should now be enabled and allow you to choose from available networks.
- Restart your Android and connect to a Wi-Fi network. (Note: Not all Wi-Fi networks work with Wi-Fi Calling.)
- At this point, any calls you make from within a wifi network should default to wifi calling.
