Introduction
All LEARNscape video and audio files can be captioned using voice-to-text technology. This automated feature produces a 90-98% accurately captioned video which can then be easily updated for 100% accuracy. A transcript will also be generated that can be searched, downloaded, or printed. Videos and audio files where the voice is clear, audible, and in English will produce the most accurate voice-to-text captions. Currently, when a video is uploaded to LEARNscape, it will automatically receive auto generated captions, which can then be reviewed for accuracy and edited as needed. This article will outline how to order captions for any older LEARNscape videos that were not captioned.
Order Captions
- Open the LEARNscape video that you would like to have captioned.
- Click the Actions drop-down menu that appears below the video and select + Caption Enrich.
- A new section will appear. Click on the Submit button.
- If you have successfully ordered the captions you will see the message "Your caption request has been received. Your video will be automatically uploaded upon completion."
Caption requests can take up to 48 hours to be approved and sent. You will not receive a notification that the captions are completed.
To check if the captions are complete:
- Open the LEARNscape video and click the Actions drop-down menu and select + Caption Enrich.
- You will be presented with a list of caption requests. If your captions are finished, the word COMPLETED will appear under the Status.
To learn how to edit captions, please review the article "Editing Captions".
Human Transcription Service
In some circumstances, a more accurate captioning service may be needed. Human (Professional) generated captions can be ordered that will NOT require as much editing but should be reviewed by you to make sure names are accurate. This service can be accessed at the Closed Caption Request to order human transcription.
