Introduction
This article will outline how to edit and order LEARNscape captions.
All LEARNscape video and audio files are captioned automatically. Once any file is uploaded into Learnscape, the system immediately starts generating machine captions. This automated feature produces a 90-98% accurately captioned video which can then be easily updated for 100% accuracy. A transcript will also be generated that can be searched, downloaded, or printed. Videos and audio files in English, with a clear, audible voice will produce the most accurate captions.
Ordering Machine Captions
While all LEARNscape video and audio files are now captioned automatically, some older videos may not have received machine captions when they were uploaded. If you have an older video, or a video that has been updated, you may need to request machine captions.
To order machine captions:
- Select the LEARNscape video that you would like to have captioned.
- Select Actions in the drop-down menu, that appears below the video, and then select +Caption Enrich.

- A new section will appear. Ensure you have the correct language selected and then select Submit.

- If you have successfully ordered captions you will see the message "our caption request has been received. Your video will be automatically uploaded upon completion. Caption requests can take up to 48 hours to be approved and sent. You will not receive a notification that the captions are completed.
Checking if Captions are Completed
To ensure your captions are complete:
- In your LEARNscape video, select Actions in the drop-down menu, that appears below the video, and then select +Caption Enrich.

- Under Existing Requests, any captions requested will be listed. If your captions have been completed, under Status it will say Ready.
