Introduction

Microsoft Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is the new password utility the university uses for password account management.

With Microsoft SSPR, anyone with a university account  can reset, unlock or change their password any time of day and from any device, without having to contact the IT Service Desk.

SSPR also provides security for your password and the password reset process.

Employees and Students have up to 4 methods available for resetting your password and keeping your data secure. We recommend using two methods, such as email and phone, or email and the Microsoft Authenticator App in case one method is not available to you at anytime.

The first step to use SSPR is to register at aka.ms/ssprsetup. You can return to this link at any time to update and manage your authentication methods.

Student SSPR Setup - Additional Authentication Methods

All Students are pre-registered with their personal email on file with the university. You can add an alternative email, or other method for authentication in the password reset process such as a cell phone or the Microsoft Authenticator App.

We do recommend adding at least one additional authentication method recommended below, in order to have multiple methods to reset your password.

The registration methods available are:

  • Microsoft Authenticator App
  • Personal email (i.e., @gmail.com)
  • Mobile phone, for SMS texting
  • Additional phone, for automated phone call code

To Register Additional Authentication Methods:

  • Type aka.ms/ssprsetup in your browser.
  • Enter your current university username (i.e., your university email address).

Microsoft Sign In page

  • Enter your university username and password at our university login page.

You will be brought to your Profile Security Information page in Microsoft. You will see the email address you have on file with the university already pre-registered for use with SSPR.

You can now add the methods you would like to use when resetting your password.
