Introduction

You can delete an assignment via either the course content or the Assignments page.

Delete an Assignment from Course Content

  1. From the course homepage, select Course Menu in the navbar and select Content.
  2. Find the assignment you want to delete in the course content and select the chevron next to its title. Select Delete Topic from the pop-up menu.
  3. Select one of the two options:
    • To remove the assignment ONLY from the course content, choose "Remove the topic from Content but keep the associated file or activity in the course." You will still need to delete the assignment from the Assignments list and the grade book.
    • To remove the assignment from the course content AND the Assignments list, choose "Permanently delete both the topic from Content and the associated file or activity from the course."
  4. Select the Delete button.

Delete an Assignment from the Assignments Page

  1. From the course homepage, select Course Menu in the navbar and select Assignments.
  2. In the Assignments page, find the assignment you want to delete from the list and select the chevron next to its title.
  3. Select Delete Assignment in the pop-up window.

A Note About the Grade Book

Deleting an assignment using either the Course Content or the Assignments List methods will not delete the grade item associated with the assignment. When the assignment has been deleted, the grade item will need to be deleted, for steps to do that, review the Deleting Grade Items and Grade Categories knowledge base article.
