Stylized Quote Overview

Overview

Elements from Brightspace’s Creator+ tool allow developers and content creators to add dynamic components with a user-friendly authoring experience that does not require HTML coding knowledge.

A Stylized Quote uses large, stylized quotation marks and formatting to set it apart from primary content.

Insert a Stylized Quote

To insert a Stylized Quote to a page of content, navigate to the desired page and select the Edit HTML option to edit the page. Then complete the following steps:

  1. Place the cursor in the location the Stylized Quote will need to go.
  2. Select the Creator+ Authoring Tools button in the editor.

  3. Select the Insert Element option.

  4. Click the Stylized Quote option.

  5. Select one of the Format Options to indicate if you want standard size text or large focus.
    • Standard Quotes: Useful to highlight simple quotations without dominating the layout.
    • Large Focus Quotes: Useful to begin a content page as the focal message.

  6. Enter the Quotation and Attribution elements of the quote.

  7. Select the Preview button to review the Stylized Quote.

  8. Select the Insert button to finalize the content and insert the Stylized Quote into the page.

  9. Select Save and Close.

Edit a Stylized Quote

  1. Navigate to the webpage that has a Stylized Quote and select Edit HTML from the drop-down menu.

  2. Click the Stylized Quote to open the Edit Panel, then select the pencil icon.

  3. Make the needed changes using the same fields, then select Preview.

  4. In the Preview window, select Insert to confirm your revisions.

  5. Back in the editing screen, select Save and Close to finalize the update.
