Kaltura’s YouTube Connect feature allows you to link videos from YouTube directly into your Kaltura account. This provides seamless access, captioning, and the ability to share videos in your courses or other platforms that integrate with Kaltura.
Steps to Add a YouTube Video

Log in to Learnscape
Sign in to your institution’s Learnscape.

Select “Add New” → “YouTube”
From the top navigation bar, click Add New and choose YouTube from the dropdown menu.

Enter the YouTube Video URL

Copy the URL of the YouTube video you’d like to add.

Paste it into the provided field in Learnscape.

Click Preview to confirm the video loads correctly.

Complete the Video Details

Add a title, description, and tags.

These fields help with organization and searchability.

Save and Publish

Choose your publishing options (Private, Unlisted, or Published to a category/channel).

Click Save to add the video to your Media Library.
Captions and Accessibility

Automatic Captions:
All YouTube videos added to Learnscape will automatically have machine-generated captions applied.

Accuracy Reminder:
Machine captions are not perfect. Users are responsible for reviewing captions for accuracy and making necessary edits. This ensures compliance with accessibility requirements and provides a better experience for all viewers.
