About the American Council on Education (ACE) National Guide

The American Council on Education (ACE) is an organization that evaluates professional learning experiences for university credit. This article describes how to search the ACE National Guide website to find credit recommendations.

Searching the ACE National Guide

Start by going to the ACE website (www.acenet.edu) and scrolling down and clicking on the National Guide (www.acenet.edu/National-Guide).

Enter the organization, course name, or key word in the search box:

The search bar on the ACE National Guide.

For example, if you have taken FEMA training, you can enter it into the search box and see the organizations and courses that have been evaluated.

"FEMA" has been typed in the ACE search bar. Search results such as the "National Emergency Training Center" and "National Fire Academy" are listed below.

Each organization page will have a list of courses that have been evaluated.

Each course will list the dates of the evaluation and the recommended credits:

Earlier versions of the course, exam, or training may have been evaluated, so be sure to check the date range (the credit recommendation may be different for each date range):

If you are able to find your course, the next step is to have documentation sent directly to Empire State University’s Admissions office. You can use the Credly Badging system to email a transcript.  See Documenting ACE Learning for more information.
